Maid
by gina{ML}
She was in dire need.
Clean, simple, tight office. She sat on the rolling chair before the desk.
The interview was straight: experience, skills, wage, hours, benefits.
At the end, the test practice. At the end she noticed the place was just about right and he asserted she had a perfect fit for the whole thing.
Location was a old, sturdy, well held, three-stories building. Basement for storage, ground for games, drinks and bathrooms, first floor for guests and service rooms, upper for administration.
First day she learned which rooms and which services where for. Next days, she learned which guests were for.
Laundry truck was daily, linen changes in shifts. Maids had lanudry and rest places as benefits.
Wage was regular and bonuses applied as regulars had their tabs collected. Simple, quiet, discreet.
Owner gave maids guest rooms when they needed. She did, and didn't mind sharing: found herself staying there almost every day.
There was always something hard to let her spread on the bed at the end of her shift: it could be work, or it could not.
A while after she had an usual room, and the interviewer as a regular. All other guests and sharers began to fade.
She noticed he loved to enter from the rear. She didn't object that, though she was surprised at first. She didn't thought much of it before.
He gave her a leather choker and required her to wear it on duty. The pendant was a simple thin silver triangle with a name on it. Not hers.
After that, she had no other guest than him.
When she understood that, she presented herself the time he returned from his shift.
She may have been not turned towards him, but he did was turned towards her, and he didn't went off soon.
She did gave him what he wanted, as he wanted it.
In those thoughtless moments she remembered the noises she identified the first day, although muffled in her head and through the walls, but enough to stay in her mind.
It was pleasant to think she found her place as he did find his own one with her.
She did finally came to the third floor as a part of it. The whole thing, even though it was not hers, rather the other way round.
She helped him selecting new maids.
She didn't serve guests anymore, though it didn't came out of her.
